Marc Benioff named "Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur" by French government [fr]

The High Commissioner of the Republic in French Polynesia, Mr. Eric Spitz, awarded Mr. Marc Benioff of the Légion d’honneur on October 8th 2022, in the presence of the President of French Polynesia, Mr. Edouard Fritch.

Salesforces, the company founded and directed by Mr. Marc Benioff, employs 60,000 people worldwide, including 2,000 in France.

The company provided support during the Covid-19 health crisis by developing the "SolidaritéNumérique.com" and "SOS confinement" platforms, in partnership with the French Secretary of State for Digital Affairs and the SAMU social. These innovative digital tools have been fundamental in providing technical and moral support in times of confinement.

In a personal capacity, Mr. Marc Benioff also donated 1 million dollars in health equipment to support French Polynesia to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his speech, Mr. Marc Benioff said he was "very honored by this distinction". "My gratitude, he added, also goes to Mr. Macron, the French Ambassador to the United States, the Consul General of France in San Francisco, and the French community".
He also thanked President Edouard Fritch for his warm welcome, and High Commissioner Eric Spitz for his words that "greatly honored" him.
