What is the Assembly of the French Abroad

The Assembly of the French Abroad (AFE) is the representative assembly for French citizens living outside France.

It is their spokesperson and defender of their rights and interests. The assembly is the middleman to the government for the French established outside of France.

It is composed of 90 councilors elected for 6 years in 15 constituencies covering the whole world. Its president is elected by and among its members.
