JOB: BILINGUAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Business France Invest, the French government agency for international investment, is seeking a Business Development Manager to complete the team, based in San Francisco. The San Francisco office covers the US West Coast (13 U.S. States). This person will be in charge of working with US companies considering doing business in France primarily in the cleantech and mobility industries. This is a junior-level position with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Business France Invest’s mission is to help US-based companies set-up or expand their activities in France and Europe. BF US offices provide executives with customized, confidential and complimentary services and information.
Identify prospective companies via internet research, press releases, industry associations, and other sources,
Prepare and conduct direct marketing operations –e-mail, calling, trade missions and meetings,
Inform and advise American companies on doing business in France and setting-up a business in France,
Promote France as the ideal location for American companies’ European development,
Manage international expansion projects from identification to implementation, in collaboration with our main office in Paris and our economic development partners in France.
Maintain and update our 2 internal databases (CRM and project management),
Perform internal administrative duties as needed,
Travel required -est. 20% of time- within the US West Coast and France about once a year.
BA/BS preferably with relevant majors: economics, business and/or marketing, French,
Dual English/French fluency required (written and spoken),
Excellent communication skills; comfortable meeting with C-level executives,
Project management skills and ability to multi-task,
Ability to expand and manage a network of contacts through networking events, conferences, and one-on-one meetings,
Self-starter, dynamic, comfortable working in a small team environment (5 people),
Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision,
Proficiency with all MS Office applications,
Knowledge of the French business environment and culture (experience living in France would be a plus),
Experience/Knowledge in the IT sector in France and/or the USA would be a plus,
Good understanding of the Economic Development/Investment Promotion environment,
Legal authorization to work in the US,
Able to begin work in San Francisco as of September 1st,
Driving license required.
