68th anniversary of D-DAY, between souvenirs and education

On June 6th, the Consulate General of France and the Lycée Français La Pérouse co organized the célébration of the 68th anniversary of D-DAY aboard the SS Jeremiah O’Brien in the Port of San Francico.

Marc Rossano, head of school, and Romain Serman, Consul General, invited Wilford Anderson, WW2 vétéran along 66 9 and 10 years old students from la Pérouse, to celebrate the french american friendship on this highly symbolic day but also to pass the memories on to the next generation.

After the ceremony, a pique nique organized by the association Normandy Day was served to the students but also to thousand of students from french schools all over the world.
