June 19th, Palo Alto World Music Day!
La Fête de la Musique will also be celebrated in Palo Alto during the renowned annual Palo Alto music festival, Palo Alto World Music Day! The festival’s third edition will take place Sunday, June 19th (Father’s Day) from 3:00 to 7:30 pm. Building on the success of the previous two years, Palo Alto will invite musicians and the public to dance in the street to the rhythm and sounds of guitars and saxophones!

The City Council of Palo Alto has decided this year to close University Avenue to make this year’s World Music Day more enjoyable for the public. So please note: University Avenue will be closed between Cowper and High Street. Along this stretch of the avenue closed for pedestrians, music fans will be able to discover all kinds of musical groups both professional and amateur: jazz, pop, rock, classical, folk, choral… there will be something to satisfy all musical tastes.

Last year, the event brought together more than 50 musical groups and over 10,000 people. Join us this year and bring your family and friends to celebrate Father’s Day!

Palo Alto World Music Day is organized and made possible by the Palo Alto Recreation Foundation, the City of Palo Alto and several sponsors: The Palo Alto Weekly, Palo Alto Online, the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, the Palo Alto Downtown Business and Professional Association, the Palo Alto Community Fund, and News for Chinese.
