Reception honoring choreographer Anna Halprin, in conjunction with her retrospective at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
Mr. Pierre-François Mourier, consul general of France in San Francisco and Mrs Rachel Mourier hosted a private reception at their residence honoring choreographer Anna Halprin.
Produced by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon and curated by Jacqueline Caux, the exhibition “Anna Halprin : At the Origin of Performance” displays archival documents, photos, films, sound recordings, scores, press cuttings, and illustrated partitions. This audiovisual installation is a celebration of Anna Halprin’s work, from the late forties to nowadays, tracing the incomparable art and experimentations of a pioneer of postmodern dance and performance.
Thierry Raspail, executive director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon and curator Jacqueline Caux came from France for the occasion.
